What do I have to do to switch gas supplier?
Once you’ve selected your chosen energy supplier, we’ll let them know that you’d like to move to their tariff and inform your old energy supplier that you will be switching. Your suppliers will arrange the changeover day when you will move to your new tariff.
You’ll then receive a welcome pack from your new supplier with details of the tariff you’re switching to. In most cases, this will arrive within a couple of days but can sometimes take a few weeks.
When switching gas and electricity supplier, you will have a cooling-off period of 14 days during which you can cancel your switch without any fees.
If you’re happy to proceed with the switch, the only thing left for you to do is provide a meter reading on your changeover day. This will allow your old gas and electricity supplier to provide you with a final bill.
What information should I provide when comparing gas prices?
